just wondering

what do you think Jesus was writing in the sand when the Jewish authorities brought the adulterous woman before Him?

    I'd say a Farside cartoon, but they weren't around back then. I think Jesus had that kind of humor.

    I heard an interesting take on this that I can't remember terribly well. I think it goes like this. The times we see God writing in the Old Testament are law/judgment related. There is the writing on the wall story from Daniel 5 and the giving of the 10 commandments. Perhaps Jesus was in effect saying, "I wrote that law you are referring to". I believe it was Hugenburger who had this take and I've always found it compelling.
